The Program:
The Project Management Institute (PMI) recommends that Project Managers plan, assure and measure quality related criteria against customer requirements and defined quality standards for projects. In order to accomplish this, a Quality Management Plan must be developed during the planning stage and executed throughout the project. - This presentation discusses:
- PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) as it relates to Quality Management
- The three sub-processes associated with Quality Management
- Tools and Techniques deployed during execution of Quality Management
The Project Manager must be aware of how project quality is affected by the “Triple Constraints” of scope, cost and time and manage these constraints accordingly. The Project Managers must be familiar with their company’s Enterprise Environmental Factors and manage the project around these potential “constraints”.
We’ll discuss the importance of Quality Management throughout the Project Management Lifecycle and how quality relates to the five PMI Project Management process groups. We’ll discuss how PMI employs many of the same quality tools familiar to industry such as the Schewart Cycle, brainstorming, cost-of-quality, quality audits, etc.
